We're hiring a Strategy Lead at Ajeeb Studio. This isn't a deck-formatting role or a junior research position. It's about taking research, client conversations, founder direction and scattered business context, and turning all of it into clear strategic thinking, sharp recommendations and briefs the rest of the team can build from.
Turning research and meeting notes into clear strategic thinking
Synthesising client feedback and founder direction into recommendations
Structuring strategy decks, documents and creative briefs
Spotting gaps, contradictions and assumptions before they become problems
Reviewing strategic outputs before they reach the Creative Director
Knowing what you can decide independently, and what genuinely needs to go up
Strong independent strategic thinking, not just execution of the brief you're handed
Excellent written English, and the ability to make complex thinking simple
Comfort working across industries, not just one category
Enough creative fluency to work closely with designers, illustrators and motion teams
Business judgment: audience, positioning and commercial constraints, not just aesthetics
Experience in a branding or creative agency, or an in-house strategy team
Comfort with ambiguous, partly contradictory briefs
Genuine curiosity across categories, not just one industry
To apply, we want to see how you actually think, not just what your CV says. Here's the problem:
A client wants Ajeeb Studio to pitch a projection-mapping activation onto Frere Hall in Karachi, a colonial-era heritage building, for a launch event. The creative idea on the table is "historical incarnation": using light and projection to show the building moving through different eras of its own history. The founders like the concept and want to move straight into content design.
But Frere Hall is a protected heritage structure, which means no drilling, rigging, or anchoring into the facade, and any public activation there likely needs an NOC from the relevant heritage or culture authority plus local permissions for a public gathering at night. Power on site is limited, projectors bright enough to read against ambient city light and the building's own floodlighting typically need generator power staged away from the heritage grounds themselves, which changes the footprint of the whole setup. And "historical incarnation" on a building built for a British colonial commissioner is not neutral content, telling that history as celebration versus critique are two very different creative directions, and getting that framing wrong in a public, photographed event carries real reputational risk.
There's also a note the production side forwarded without much thought: the projector vendor they'd use flagged that a building this size and this lit up at night needs a much higher-lumen (and more expensive) projector than a typical indoor or small-facade job, positioned at a specific throw distance that may not be available from anywhere the client assumed they'd set up. Separately, nobody has actually confirmed whether this is a one-night activation or something the client wants to repeat, which changes whether it's even worth building custom content versus a simpler, reusable projection.
Budget a focused 1 hour. Send us:
A short PDF (one page max) covering:
In 150 words or fewer: what's the real risk in moving straight into "historical incarnation" content before the legal and cultural questions are settled, and what could go wrong if the studio designs the content first?
The opening two or three sentences of the recommendation you'd send back to the founders, the line that has to land before anything else does.
The specific questions you'd need answered before finalising a direction, and who each one goes to (a heritage/legal authority, the technical/production vendor, or the client on their actual intent for the piece). Not every question belongs to the same person.
In bullet points, what has to be locked before any content design starts (permits, power plan, framing of the history) versus what can still flex once those are settled.
Plus a Loom, 2 minutes max: pitch us your actual recommendation, as if you were saying it to the founders in the room, live. Not a summary of the PDF, the pitch itself.
There's no single right answer we're grading against, we're paying attention to how you think, what you notice in the contradictions, and whether you can land it out loud in two minutes.
Email your CV, your portfolio, your PDF, and your Loom link to areeb@ajeebstudio.com
