We're hiring a Strategy Lead at Ajeeb Studio. This isn't a deck-formatting role or a junior research position. It's about taking research, client conversations, founder direction and scattered business context, and turning all of it into clear strategic thinking, sharp recommendations and briefs the rest of the team can build from.
Turning research and meeting notes into clear strategic thinking
Synthesising client feedback and founder direction into recommendations
Structuring strategy decks, documents and creative briefs
Spotting gaps, contradictions and assumptions before they become problems
Reviewing strategic outputs before they reach the Creative Director
Knowing what you can decide independently, and what genuinely needs to go up
Strong independent strategic thinking, not just execution of the brief you're handed
Excellent written English, and the ability to make complex thinking simple
Comfort working across industries, not just one category
Enough creative fluency to work closely with designers, illustrators and motion teams
Business judgment: audience, positioning and commercial constraints, not just aesthetics
Experience in a branding or creative agency, or an in-house strategy team
Comfort with ambiguous, partly contradictory briefs
Genuine curiosity across categories, not just one industry
To apply, we want to see how you actually think, not just what your CV says. Here's the problem:
Sehat Sitara is a fictional preventive-care program run by a family clinic network, for children ages 3 to 18, structured in five three-year age bands. Each band gets a welcome kit when a family enrolls, plus a yearly kit tied to the child's check-up. It's the same shape as a real program we've built for a banking client, just moved into health tech, and entirely fictional here.
The client has one big ask on the table: they want a single wellness passport that works the whole way from age 3 to 18. One booklet, one design, issued once. Simpler and cheaper to produce than five different kits, and parents keep one object instead of five. They've asked us to design it so it grows with the child instead of needing a new object every few years.
But the research the client already commissioned complicates that ask. Parents of 3 to 6 year olds want almost no reading required, the youngest kids engage through pictures and stickers only. Teenagers in the 15 to 18 band actively reject anything that looks like it belongs to a younger sibling, and several said they don't want a parent reading pages meant for them, since some of that content touches puberty and mental health check-ins. Clinics report they have no reliable way to flag a missed vaccination or check-up across visits. And nobody in the research actually asked for one combined object, the one-booklet idea came from the client's production team trying to cut cost.
There's also an internal note from the clinic network's ops lead, forwarded by the client without much thought: if a teenager's mental health check-in and a toddler's vaccination record sit in the same physical booklet, and the whole thing lives in a family's kitchen drawer, legal is going to ask who else in the house can read it. Separately, it's still unclear whether this passport is meant to replace a clinic's own record-keeping or just sit alongside it, which changes what can be promised about accuracy.
Send us a short PDF (two pages max) covering:
In 250 words or fewer: what's the real problem with a single passport spanning ages 3 to 18, and is it actually solving anything the research asked for?
The opening two or three sentences of the recommendation you'd send back to the client, the line that has to land before anything else does.
The specific questions you'd need answered before finalising a direction, and who each one goes to (the client's production team, the ops lead, or further research with teenagers or clinics). Not every question belongs to the same person.
In bullet points, what should differ between the youngest band's kit and the oldest band's kit, and what, if anything, should genuinely stay constant across all five. Structure the thinking only, don't design anything.
A short paragraph on how you'd present this recommendation differently to the client's production team versus their ops and legal lead.
Budget a focused 2 to 3 hours. There's no single right answer we're grading against, we're paying attention to how you think and what you notice in the contradictions.
